About us

Northvale builds the software that keeps freight moving. We're 70-odd people in Brighton, working with hauliers and warehouses across the UK to replace clipboards and spreadsheets with something that actually works on a phone in the rain.

We're not a startup and we're not a giant. We're profitable, growing steadily, and we've got a strong preference for hiring people who are still learning over people who've already peaked.

Why we hire on potential

Our best account manager was a pub landlord. Our second-best developer came from a coding bootcamp at 34. We stopped filtering CVs by industry experience in 2022 and our retention went up, not down. People who chose this career on purpose tend to stay.

How we train people

First 6 weeks
Structured onboarding. Product, customers, and the industry. No client contact until you're ready.
Months 2–4
Paired with a senior colleague. You shadow, then lead with support, then run it yourself.
Ongoing
£1,200 annual learning budget and one paid study day a month. Yours to spend on what you need.
Progression
Reviewed every 6 months against a published framework. No guessing what "good" looks like.
